To apply to the Las Vegas Scholars METAS Program, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Must be an incoming freshman at UNLV in Fall 2026 or Fall 2027.
Must declare a major of electrical or computer engineering.
Must be accepted into UNLV's College of Engineering. (To apply to UNLV, see the UNLV Gateway System - https://www.unlv.edu/admissions/freshman.)
Must have demonstrated financial need (in other words, must be eligible to receive the Pell grant, as defined by FAFSA). Be sure to complete the FAFSA form with your UNLV application for admission.
Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, U.S. national, or refugee.
Must be committed to participate in program activities (including the Summer Bridge Program from the end of July to mid-August, professional development activities, mentoring, and internships or research).
Must be eligible to enroll in pre-calculus (Math 126, Math 127, or Math 128) at UNLV.
